Event Information

LLBBQ PhotoBeginning Friday, July 9th, 2010, Loveland Loves Barbecue will begin its fourth season of barbecue goodness. Teams from around the country will come to Loveland to compete in what is fast becoming the premier event each summer in Northern Colorado. Loveland Loves Barbecue is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event and as such must follow the KCBS rules. Those rules can be found here.

A KCBS Contest Representative plays a critical role at a BBQ event. For instance, they are responsible for:

  • Visiting and greeting teams
  • Supervising and coordinating the numbering & dispensing of presentation containers to contestants
  • Conducting Cooks' Meeting
  • Conducting Judges' Meeting
  • Conduct Table Captains' Meeting
  • Supervising the Judging process to ensure rules & regulations are followed
  • Supervising the Tabulation process
  • Oversight of the required paperwork: Individual scores, reporting to KCBS, contest settlement
  • Enforcing all KCBS rules and regulations throughout the contest

In short, Contest Representatives ensure the integrity of your event. They are your mentor, sharing positive contest experiences. They can be your lifeline in mapping a successful event. If there is a scoring problem, rule interpretation dispute, or question about judging, your KCBS Representatives assume responsibility.

We are very proud to welcome Merl and Carol Whitebook to Loveland Loves Barbecue 2010 as our contest reps.
